Chailey & Newick Painting Group opens this year’s online exhibition of exciting new work from its members on November 20th, running until December 20th.
The cattle have now been moved off the Combined Commons: Pound, Memorial & Romany Ridge for the winter.
The Community Speedwatch group continues to be active. Our purpose is to get people to slow down and modify their driving behaviour and not necessarily to “catch people”. You probably have seen us active in several locations in Chailey on a variety of days and times. Since reactivation, a recent session for the first time recorded no vehicles exceeding the limit. We hope that our presence has influenced drivers approaching the village, to check their speed and slow down if necessary. We all probably at some time have been surprised by how fast we have been driving and these sessions just remind us all to take care.
Chailey Parish Council were informed this afternoon that workers will undertaking testing on the Chagley Corner site (junction on Oxbottom Lane / South of A272) on the 14th & 20th October.
Earlier in the year, as part of the Call for Sites, Reside Development submitted their vision document for 20 new homes at “Chagley Corner”, which is the land that lies to the south of Station Road and the junction of Oxbottom Road.

After a very short summer break, Chailey Parish Council have now resumed their parish council meetings which are currently being held at St Peter’s Church, Chailey Green, starting at 7.30pm.
The principles underlying the responses of Chailey Parish Council (CPC) to the Issues and Options consultation are those that are laid out in the Chailey Neighbourhood Plan that was made in May 2021.
